...Movie magic comes alive in the fantasy romantic drama Tonight, At the Movies (a.k.a. Color Me True), a love letter to classic Japanese cinema & the bygone days of old-school filmmaking. Ayase Haruka ( Galaxy Turnpike) & Sakaguchi Kentaro ( The 100th Love With You) play a fictional film character & a real-world director who fall in love against the odds in the nostalgia-tinged romance from Nodame Cantabile & Thermae Romae director Takeuchi Hideki. Honda Tsubasa ( Fullmetal Alcehmist), Kitamura Kazuki ( Blade of the Immortal), Nakao Akiyoshi ( Tokyo Refugees) & veterans Emoto Akira & Kato Go also appear in the film.
In the 1960s, struggling aspiring director Kenji (Sakaguchi Kentaro) goes to the same cinema every evening to watch the same B&W film about tomboyish princess Miyuki (Ayase Haruka) & her adventures. One night, something miraculous happens. Miyuki appears before him in real life in black & white! From that day on, the two begin a strange new life together as Kenji introduces the monochromatic princess to the colorful real world. Over time, they gradually fall in love, but Miyuki has a secret that can make her disappear from Kenjis world.
