Woolworths are one of the oldest high street brands in the UK, starting out in 1909 selling children's clothes, stationery and toys. At their height the brand had 807 stores on high streets throughout the UK. However, in 2009 Woolworths went into administration and had closed the majority of its stores by January 2009. Their saviour came in the form of the Shop Direct Group, an online retailer who purchased the brand and relaunched Wooolworth's as an online store.
