Quintus Gran Reserva Pinot Noir 2008, Casablanca Valley (Chile) Elegant, delicate red wine from Chile. Ruby red in colour with a pleasant smell of ripe red fruit. On the palate, the wine has a soft texture with hints of raspberries, black cherries & berries. This finish is long & well-balanced. Maxxi Pure Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Western Cape (South Africa) This fantastic Cabernet Sauvignon is dark red in colour with violet hues. The fruit-driven nose is complex, offering raspberry ganache, spice, toast & espresso over the blackberry & blackcurrant fruit. On the palate, the wine has a wonderfully smooth texture displaying toast, cream, tobacco & fruit flavour with a touch of minerality. The finish is long & smoky yet retains the fruit as well. Casa Safra Reserva 2004, Alicante (Spain) Aged in oak for 12 months & in bottle for 2 years, this velvety wine is striking dark red in colour with a violet rim. The complex nose is spicy with caramel & fruit notes. On the palate, the wine is rustic, solid, with herb & earthy flavours. The wine has a good acidity on the finish. Feudi Nigri Salento Rosso 2008, IGT (Italy) This wine is made from the local grape variety Primitivo. Jammy fruits on the nose, the wine is well-balanced & long on the finish.
