Product Description

Established in 1924 by Ramon Bilbao Murga, a prominent wine trader of his time, today the Bodegas is at the forefront of winemaking in Rioja. Situated in Haro in the Rioja Alta, on the banks of the River Ebro, the Bodegas owns some 75 hectares of the best vineyards of the region. Winemaker Santos Calahorra makes wine with a modern style & together with the up to date packaging, the wines have received much acclaim in the press & they were voted Winery of the Year in 2009. Carefully selected from the vineyards in the Rioja Alta, with 20 months of ageing in American oak casks as well as further ageing in the cellar, this wine displays deep cherry red colours, with aromas of blackberries, cedar, leather & spices. Good balance on the palate with a long finish
