The Box Four groupset is designed for riders who want less fuss. It features an 8 speed shifter & an 11-42T cassette, which offers a great range of gearing to meet the demands of your off-road adventures. Designed for smooth performance, its rear mech uses a Limited Slip clutch in a compact cage. A final highlight is its custom 8 speed chain that's built for abuse. This makes it a great groupset for riders that want strong groupset without all the frills & at a wallet-friendly price. Box Four 8 Speed Shifter The Box Four shifter's main features aren't strikingly different from Box Three's. The key difference is its 8-speed platform. We've chosen to modernize the 8-speed in much the same way we did the 9-speed for Prime 9. Just like the Prime 9, the Box Four shifters take advantage of the "less is more" theme & exploit durability, simplicity, & reliability.

No, Shimano direct mount hangers are proprietary & are not compatible with Box derailleurs. Is the Box Four Prime 9 Derailleur compatible with other 8 speed components? No, traditional 8 speed systems use a Cable Pull that is not compatible with Prime 9. Are Box Prime 9 derailleurs compatible with drop bar (road) shifters? No, Box Prime 9 derailleurs are not currently compatible with drop bar shifters, but we do offer a clamp for our shifters to mount on some 31.8mm drop handle bars. How should I clean my Box Four Prime 9 derailleur? We suggest removing the derailleur from the bike & using a soft bristle brush or rag with soapy water or a mild degreaser. We do not recommend pressure washing, strong solvents or de-greasers as they could degrade the surface coating. Shifter Does the Box Four Shifter come with a cable? Yes. All Box One Twin Lever Shifters come with a stainless steel shift cable. How do I remove the cap from the cable port to install a new cable? To remove it, use a Phillips head screwdriver & turn it counter-clockwise a quarter turn You can then push the cap out by applying pressure to the cable from the other side. Please Note: The Cable Port is not a screw that un-threads from the cable port if you turn the cable port screw more than 90 degrees damage may occur. Is the Box Four Shifter compatible with other 8 speed derailleurs? No, traditional 8 speed systems use a Cable Pull that is not compatible with Box Four components. Cassette Will the Box Four Prime 9 Cassette fit on a wheel with a Sram XD Driver? No this will only work with a HG splined Shimano 9-10-11 speed freehub body.
