This long-distance walk from Drymen to Pitlochry was co-developed by Rucksack Readers in 2001 & is now widely recognised as a great trail. It runs for 77 miles (124 km) along some of Scotlands finest lochs & glens using historic footpaths a cycleway disused railway trackbed forest & moorland tracks & some minor road. Many places are linked with Scotlands most famous outlaw Rob Roy Mac Gregor (1671-1734). The Way offers superb Highland scenery & passes impressive aqueducts & viaducts castles & forts a stone circle & visitor centres. It is less crowded & less strenuous than the West Highland Way but passes through friendly villages with pubs & B& Bs. It was waymarked during 2012 but the guidebook has indispensable detailed directions & fascinating background.
