Soon after the author's son went off to university with no cooking experience he returned after having made himself ill with chocolate bars milk & pizza for his only means of survival. Joy decided her son needed a cookbook. After trawling the bookshop shelves for a book that was not only suitable for his level of cooking expertise but also one that would inspire him to actually cook she realised there was nothing out there that worked for him.
