John Clare: A Poet for all Seasons is a superb anthology combining the poems of John Clare the nineteenth century poetic commemorator of the English countryside & rural life
- the so-called Northamptonshire Peasant Poet. Arranged according to season including some extracts from Clares poems & his diary this quiet revelation opens with an introduction in which the author describes his background as a photographer with an interest in illustrating literary works & gives an account of his first discovery of Clares poetry. This is followed by a short biographical sketch of the Poet & the main body of the manuscript provides us with a glimpse into what we might otherwise have overlooked.
