From the Sunday Times & New York Times bestselling author comes the poignant & shocking memoir of Cathy's recent relationship with Tayo a young boy she fosters whose good behaviour & polite manners hide a terrible past. Tayo arrives at Cathy's with only the clothes he stands up in. He has been brought to her by the police but he is calm polite & very well spoken & not at all like the children she normally fosters. The social worker gives Cathy the forms which should contain Tayo's history but apart from his name & age it is blank. Tayo has no past. Tayo is an 'invisible' child kidnapped from his loving father in Nigeria & brought illegally to the UK by his drink & drugs dependent prostitute mother where he is put to work in a sweat shop in Central London. When he sustains an injury & is no longer earning he is cast out. When Cathy takes Tayo to school he points out a dozen different addresses where he has stayed in the last six months often being left alone. Tayo lies & manipulates situations to his own advantage & Cathy has to be continually on guard. Tayo's social worker searches all computer databases but there is no record of Tayo
- he has only attended school for 3 terms & has never seen a doctor. He & his mother have been evading the authorities by living 'underground'. With his mother recently released from prison Tayo is desperate to live with his father in Nigeria but no one can track him down or even prove that he exists.

- but she's far from done wreaking havoc in the vampyre world. With the seeds of distrust sown & Darkness breeding chaos at the House of Night everyone must band together

Renowned American photographer Jack Watson travelled to Cuba on a legal humanitarian visa. He chronicled his journey with breath-taking & often heart breaking images of the Cuba people cites & countryside. Watson describes his visit: I had stepped back in time 50 years
- this was my first impression of Cuba. My journey which began in Havana consisted of travelling by bus pedicab coco cab 1957 Chevy & foot. I was here primarily to help the Cuban people but giving away medicine vitamins & money felt like using aspirin to treat the plague. I covered hundreds of miles travelling in an oval-shaped route with stops at Cienfuegos the Bay of Pigs Trinidad & Varadero Beach in the province of Matanzas
- & then back to Havana. As the title of this book indicates this is an unauthorised journal of photographs taken during my visit. While I certainly share similar & compassionate thoughts about humanitarian aid toward people in need I felt a greater calling in compiling the images for this book. If one picture is indeed worth thousands of words then this is an encyclopaedic portrayal of the real
- hidden
- Cuba. This is not a travel guide; I will leave that for the tourism industry. It is however a behind-the-scenes look at the Cuba that tourist never see. I have tried to present a wide portrayal of images that will allow the viewer to see all aspects of Castros Cuba. You cannot look at the glitz alone & make logical conclusions about this country; while there is some beauty there is more decay. While the country is admittedly a communist enclave when looking at these images one has to ask if this form of government was the right choice for the Cuban people. You be the judge
- the story is in your hands.
