They believed that their brutal treatment was literally incomprehensible. - & how thousands died from tropical diseases. They risked torture or execution to draw & write diaries that they hid wherever they could sometimes burying them in the graves of lost comrades. After the war Reg worked as a warehouseman until retirement cycling twenty miles daily to Leicester. He still lives in Leicester & with his family he visited the sites of the POW camps in Thailand in 2006.
