A guidebook to walking Glyndwrs Way from Knighton to Welshpool in mid-Wales. Glyndwrs Way named after Owain Glyndwr who led the Welsh in a rebellion against the English in the 15th century is the third National Trail in Wales & a fitting tribute to Waless greatest hero. The 132-mile (212km) Glyndwrs Way links with Offas Dyke at Welshpool to create a 172.5-mile (277.5km) circular walk back to Knighton. The Way passes through farmland forestry & open hill-land following old Roman roads drovers roads & modern public rights of way. The route is full of interest with varied flora & fauna & many historical sites relating to Owain Glyndwr. The book describes the route in 12 sections providing information on places of interest as well as the practical facilities walkers need. The route is illustrated with OS maps. The guide also provides the historic background to Owain Glyndwr & the Welsh Revolt & details a number of the prophecies myths legends & traditions surrounding him.
