
Essex CCC On This Day presents the personalities & achievements of Essex cricket in the form of a diary with individual entries for every day of the year & multiple listings for days when more than one important event has occurred. Entries celebrate all of Essex County Cricket Clubs triumphs in the county championship & one-day trophies as well as remembering victories over touring teams significant individual achievements (such as Percy Perrins triple century & Graham Napiers record number of sixes in an innings) controversial events dramatic matches & profiles of colourful characters from the clubs rich history (including the likes of Walter Mead Charlie Mc Gahey Johnny Douglas Jack OConnor Stan Nichols Trevor Bailey Doug Insole Keith Fletcher Ken Mc Ewan Graham Gooch Allan Border Nasser Hussain & Alastair Cook) as well as noting some of the less heralded players to have represented the county.
