Crosbys own local newspaper the Crosby Herald publishes a regular Memories column that features stories & photographs from the areas past. It is a popular column & made more so because of the endless supply of old photographs provided for it by local collector Tom Heath. In this book his second series of old images in the series he again takes readers on a nostalgic tour of the old Merseyside communities of Crosby Waterloo Blundellsands Seaforth & Litherl&. Using over 200 photographs this collection shows in some detail how local streets & buildings looked & how they have changed over a period of one hundred years. Most of the photographs in the book were taken by the Crosby photographer & stationer Stephen Cushing who died in 1973 & had a studio & shop in Moor Lane Crosby for thirty years. He was a prolific photographer & fortunately much of his work survives today. The images here were almost all selected from the authors own extensive archive of local memorabilia.
