Origin: Nicaragua Body: Full-bodied Roast: Medium/ Dark Roast (4) Taste: Smoky & rich with plummy undertones Whittard recommends: Using a Stovetop, cafetire or Aero Press When to drink: A brilliant after-lunch boost This distinctive single origin coffee from the Hacienda Sajonia estate in northern Nicaragua has been sourced specifically for those who love a seriously strong coffee kick Owned by two English brothers, Tom & Matthew Hills, Hacienda Sajonia can be found within the Datanli-El Diablo Nature Reserve, high up in the mountains between Matagalpa & Jinotega. Usually harvested between March & April, this particular coffee is only available during select seasons so were delighted to be able to offer it as part of our limited edition collection. Darkly roasted for an intensely full-bodied flavour & to release the natural sweetness of the beans, Nicaragua Hacienda Sajonia has none of the flatness which you might associate with a heavy roast. Instead, the wet-processed & sun dried Arabica yields a wonderfully rich & layered cup, particularly delicious with a splash of milk to mellow out the smokier notes of the roast. Sure to be a hit with fans of our Guatemala Elephant coffee.
