Allows for fast change from horizontal to vertical composition & vice versa without having to adjust your tripod and/or tripod head, while maintaining lens & viewfinder to eye-level relationship with either of its two integrated plates. Helps protect the camera body like a truck grill guard. Keeps the weight of lens & body over the tripod's centre of gravity.
