The years from 1969 to 1975 were a time of great change for buses in England & Wales as operations were consolidated & rationalised under the publicly owned National Bus Company. Many old, familiar operators such as Hebble, Midland General & Brighton, Hove & District were lost & new ones such as Alder Valley & London Country Bus Services were set up. Liveries were standardised across the NBC fleets, as were the vehicles being used. Explore the early years of the National Bus Company with this wonderfully evocative collection of period colour & black & white photographs compiled by transport historian Kevin Lane.
