Prunus laurocerasus ' Rotundifolia', with its RHS AGM, is a hardy evergreen shrub with very shiny, mid-green leaves. This cherry laurel has a bushy habit with broad leaves, making it suitable for hedging, where it provides shelter for birds in winter. Its racemes of small, white & fragrant flowers attract bees in April, & the dark, cherry-like fruits that follow are popular with wildlife from summer onwards. Prunus laurocerasus ' Rotundifolia' requires little maintenance, & is happy growing in dry shade as well as full sun. Its compact form makes it particularly suitable for hedging, but it can also be grown as a specimen plant in large containers.
