Not often seen, this hardy herbaceous perennial deserves a prominent spot in the garden&33; From midsummer, Morina longifolia produces stout flower stems with whorls of tubular white&45;pink blooms which rise above clumps of thistle&45;like leaves. As each flower is pollinated it darkens from pink through crimson to give an attractive multi&45;coloured display on every stem. Even more unusual, the spiny leaves emit a strong citrus fragrance when brushed against. Great for adding texture & colour to herbaceous borders, cottage gardens, gravel gardens & exotic schemes, the spent flower stems of Whorlflowers also look fantastic when left in place for winter.
