Heather x darleyensis can thrive in exposed areas, making it an ideal plant for coastal gardens or alpine rockeries, with no shelter from fencing or trees. The plant flowers all though winter into spring, when most of the garden is dreary & dormant. Heather always looks great planted near to dwarf conifers, such as Juniper, & is extremely low maintenance. It has needle like foliage & masses of petite flowers & as a low growing shrub, it can be used as a groundcover alternative to grass lawns, if planted in groups.
