The round, red berries of Vaccinium vitis-idaea are packed full with healthy organic acids, vitamin C, provitamin A (as beta carotene), B vitamins, & minerals. This delightful spreading, evergreen shrub is pretty as well as productive, bearing pinkish-white bell shaped flowers from May to June. The fruits of the Candy Berry, or Cow Berry as it is often known, have a sharp flavour that is best appreciated when they are crushed with a little sugar. This low growing shrub prefers an acidic soil but makes an attractive container plant if grown in ericaceous compost. Supplied in 10.5cm pot.
