This Chokeberry makes a fine spectacle, & offers plenty of interest throughout the year. Aronia x prunifolia ' Viking' bears its white, sometimes pink-tinged blooms, from late spring, which are followed by edible, round black fruits with a slightly tart flavour. The berries make an interesting addition fruit puddings & jams, but spare a few for the birds who will appreciate them in late autumn & winter. The autumn foliage of Aronia x prunifolia ' Viking' is impressive, turning to vivid shades of orange, red & violet. This spreading deciduous shrub is ideal for adding late season colour to borders & woodland areas & makes a useful shrub in wildlife gardens. Height & spread: 200cm (118?).
