These amazing hydrageas bear rounded blooms which change colour as they mature, from bright colours in summer to soft tones in autumn. Resilient and hardy, these varieties have a neat rounded habit which makes them ideal for the front of borders or containers on the patio. As with many hydrangea macrophylla varietes, the colours may vary slightly depending on the soil pH.

Collection comprises:
Hydrangea 'Magical Amethyst' - Opens lime green then colours gradually to soft pink or purple with bright green edges.
Hydrangea 'Magical Coral' - Opens as lime green then matures through shades of pink or blue to purple.
Hydrangea 'Magical Greenfire' - striking lime green and deep pink flowers.

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. When growing hydrangeas, choose a sunny or semi shaded spot that is sheltered from cold winter winds. Plant in borders in rich moist, well drained soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure to improve heavy clay or light sandy soils. Alternatively plant hydrangea in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.

Feed and water container grown plants regularly. As plants increase in size they will require repotting into increasingly larger pots. In autumn, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of border grown plants. Leave faded hydrangea flower heads in place until new buds swell the following spring. These will help protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune stems in spring, removing any rubbing, damaged or diseased stems and reducing stems to maintain a permanent woody framework.
