Set in Austria, around the time of the Second World War, The Sound of Music tells the story of a young postulant named Maria who spends time as a governess to the von Trapp family. Captain von Trapp is a widower & his children, although quite a boisterous handful, soon take Maria to their hearts. Maria eventually returns to the convent, ready to take her monastic vows, but her feelings for the Captain have grown & leave her with a difficult life decision to make. The Sound of Music
