Tastes of Life Gingerbread Oak 180mm Brushed & Lacquered is 180mm wide, has a total thickness of 14mm & comes in standard lengths of 2200mm. The floor has a 2.5mm hardwood layer which if need can be sanded & re-finished up to 3 times, but under a normal maintenance program & in a domestic environment the floor should not need to be sanded for around 20 years. This is a 3 ply engineered floor so it is made from 3 different layers, one being the hardwood wear layer with the other 2 being constructed from spruce. The edges of the boards meet squarely creating a uniform, smooth surface that blends the floor together from board to board. The overall look of this floor gives a contemporary flair & formal feeling to the room. The surface of the wood is roller brushed to remove some of the softer summer growth rings from the grain; this gives a naturally textured surface that gently highlights the natural grain structure. The floor is prefinished with a very durable matt lacquer which allows the wood to appear very natural, visually similar to oiled floor, the lacquer also gives great protection to the hardwood itself & allows for easier cleaning & maintenance.
