YES introduced the Typo to the market last season & in no time at all it was getting truly stunning reviews, eventually bagging itself a Transworld Good wood award. Aimed at riders of all ability levels who are looking for a board that can ride absolutely anything & everything, this resort buster never feels wanting, no matter where or how you ride it.
Built around YES's innovative directional twin shape with a 5mm set-back, the Typo ticks all the boxes for the all-terrain rider. That extra bit of volume in the nose combined with that setback, gives the perfect amount of lift & takes away the need to shift your bindings towards the tail & ride around on your back foot on those deep powder days.
As with the Basic the Typo utilises YES's acclaimed Under-Bite edges. This unique edge profile places dents along the edges of the board on the both the toe & heelside. These direct the rider's energy from under the feet & out to the front & back contact points & the centre of the sidecut, ensuring that the Typo delivers a level of edge hold & control that defies all expectations of a board at this price.
Now add to this the innovative 4/4/4 Cam Rock profile which combines rocker in the nose & tail with a traditional camber under the feet, & it's plain to see just how versatile this board is. Internally the Typo utilises a responsive poplar wood core matched with structural layers created from playful & softer flexing Bi-Ax glass. This combination gives great performance without compromising any of the freestyle friendly feel, ensuring that the Typo really is a ride everything & anything board.
Stepping up the performance credentials one step further, YES use a more durable & faster sintered type base. This gives better wax hold & is more resistant to scrapes & impacts.
