Last season Gigi introduced the all new Spectrum to the Slash range, everyone who rode it was blown away by how well it rode but the main feedback he got was that it was far too stiff for a board that is primarily intended for the urban rail rider. So for this season, taking on board that feedback Slash has tweaked the construction of the Spectrum to give it that more urban friendly feel & in doing so has created one of the very best urban/rail boards out there.
Built around the same low profile blunt nose twin tip chassis & Zero Camber Flat profile as last season, the Spectrum delivers a progressive & balanced ride, perfect for when you need the ultimate in control. It's once you get inside the board that you'll see the changes though, in comes the more playful Dual Wood core which gives the board its more jib focussed ride.
However, one of the key features of last years Spectrum that everyone loved so much was the ingenious Reactive Flex structural layers, & thankfully the new model has managed to retain these. This unique manufacturing process allows the structural layers to alter the shape of the board to specific styles of riding. For example when you board-slide a rail the Reactive flex pulls the board's edges up, creating a convex shape across the width, minimising the chances of hooking up. Then, when the board is pushed into a turn, the base forms a concave shape forcing the Ultimate Traction edges into the snow, improving edge hold. This ability to change its feel so dramatically makes the Spectrum perfect for serious riders who are unwilling to make any compromise on performance.
Finally to give great glide across all snow conditions Slash utilise a high quality sintered base.
