Lavender or Lavandula Angustifolia (formerly called Lavandula Officinalis) is an aromatic flowering shrub-like plant, with green or grey leaves covered in fine hairs & small blue, or in some cases violet or lilac flowers with an intense aroma. Lavender is widely used in aromatherapy but it has some widely known medicinal uses. Lavender infusions are believed to clear the respiratory system, soothe against cough & headaches & relax at bedtime. The leaves can be made into a tea, which can in addition be used as a mouth wash which is known to strengthen the gums. Also, the flowers are widely used to add a nice scent to a wardrobe.
