The Kamchatka Salopette comes with lock, stock & barrel. Mountain Equipment have injected all of their engineering expertise in constructing a full spec set of salopettes that perform exceptionally well; when the line between steep backcountry skiing & mountaineering become blurred, just reach for your pair of super technical Kamchatkas. Made from 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro 40D fabric & 80D fabric reinforcements; as well as being super durable, like a typical Goer-Tex Fabric, they keep all the wind, rain & snow from getting in. Windstopper X-fast 230 have been inserted in the lower back area for its full windproof yet highly breathable qualities just to stop you from getting too warm & moist. As I said to you earlier, M.E. has pulled out all the stops, so to show off they have used their Storm Construction techniques; everything from seam placing, construction & taping, to face fabrics, bar tack reinforcement & zips. These salopettes are basically impregnable. They have been fabricated around M.E.’s Active Fit block, this is the closest fitting cut that M.E. do. But because you will most likely be wearing big clumpy boot & ski boots they have increased the lower leg volume for you. The braces are fully adjustable & they have installed a drop rear seat (crap flap), so you don’t have to de-rig when nature calls. There is a pocket specially allocated for your avalanche transceiver for when you are out in the back country. Then on the flip side, if you aren’t using these in the winter snowy condition & are just using them as an over trouser then you have to option to zip off the internal snow gaiter.
