You will soon discover the wealth of surfaces to drive on & in, with chalk, clay, s&, mud runs & even water crossings to test those axles & suspension struts. As well as using the established 'green lane' tracks & trails on the estate, you'll be able to have a go at the purpose built off road test circuit, which is specifically designed to test your nerve & powers of concentration as you negotiate the steepest banks, ruts, side slopes & more. The vehicles on site have also been hand selected to reflect the off road motoring market today. The modern fleet of standard & modified motors include the seminal Land Rover Discovery (with manual or automatic gearboxes) & it is exactly this type of beast you will driving. All vehicles are maintained on site by the in-house team of mechanics & technicians & fully prepped for rugged terrain.Â Before you drive a 4x 4 in East Kent, your instructor will take you for a short demo ride. You will then get behind the wheel of the 4x 4 to make mincemeat of the off road challenge. On the full day experience you will get extra driving time to go ploughing through those muddy runs & splash in the water crossings, making light work of the mixed off road surfaces, then facing hill climbs & side slopes. This full day introductory course will give you a better understanding of gliding than a quick one hour lesson. The idea is to encourage you to continue with your training & go on to fly solo.ÃÂ You will gain a good understanding of flying techniques & the routine operation of a gliding airfield, all under the guidance of a qualified British Gliding Association Instructor. Flying in a two seated glider for a total of 6 flights throughout the day, there will be briefings on airfield procedures & demonstrations of glider launching & retrieving throughout the day. Includes:: an explanation of safety features & pre-take off checks. During your first flight, you will learn about the effects of control surfaces such as elevator, aileron & rudder, which will all be demonstrated with you 'following through' on the dual controls. The rest of your flying time will involve the co-ordination of turns & flying the glider 'properly trimmed'. There will also be an opportunity to study approach & landing techniques. At the end of the course you will receive a training record card & a completion certificate.
