Bird Of Prey Falconry Day In Leicester
Prepare for an action packed full day of Falconry in the countryside with the morning dedicated to familiarising yourself with the birds. Feed, handle and fly them. This is your chance to get up close to some of our favourite birds of prey.
Your morning will begin with an introduction to Falconry. You will then go straight to mastering how to handle the South American Harris Hawks, Falcons and the Owls.
After a Woodland lunch, we will head out into the fields for you to fly the birds of prey.
We will take a team of Harris Hawks out to display their aerial skill of following us. They will come to your hand for treats and chase any quarry they see. During the hunting season, (October-March for Rabbits and (October-January for pheasants), a full hunt will ensue taking dogs and
ferrets to work with the birds as we pursue rabbits or pheasant. In the Summer months, we usually fly an Eagle or European Owl before a walk with a team of Harris Hawks who show their natural capabilities while popping down for the occasional titbit. Our Expert Falconry instructors will be on hand throughout the day to ensure you are completely involved in the hunt.
