    introduction to small
    powerboat
    handling. Topics
    covered include launching
    and recovery, confined
    space maneuvering,
    mooring, man over board
    procedure, anchoring,
    towing and high speed
    handling. The main
    teaching boat is a 5.8 m
    Tornado RIB with twin
    brand new 60 HP four
    stroke
    engines. This
    provides an excellent
    combination of comfort,
    safety and speed. It is
    fitted with all the
    latest electronics
    including a GPS, Echo
    Sounder and DSc VHF
    Radio.

    board the Thunderbolt
    with an experienced
    instructor who will run
    through the driving
    procedure. Then it's off
    to experience one full
    hour of high adrenaline
    action including
    instruction on cornering
    and racing techniques,
    wave jumping and high
    speed take-offs. You
    will then be taken to the
    high speed offshore
    circuit where you will
    have the opportunity to
    race against the clock to
    find the 'aquastig of the
    year.'

    Powerboats in Europe.
    On this hour taster
    session you get the
    chance to drive this
    crazy machine. The
    hull configuration
    produces dynamic lift
    which not only increases
    acceleration and top
    speed but also enables it
    to 'fly' between wave
    tops. Your experience
    begins with a safety
    briefing and an
    introduction to the boat.
    You then get changed into
    the Saber Powersports
    racing team kit and
    safety gear. Then
    it's onto the
    water. When you are
    behind the wheel you can
    practice your driving
    technique in Southampton
    Water and into the
    Solent. You will be
    encouraged to wind the
    speed up and try high
    speed turns and wave
    jumping.

    tour of the Solent, (the
    famous strait that
    separates the Isle of
    Wight from
    England). Feel the grace
    and pace of these racing
    thoroughbreds as your
    highly experienced driver
    takes the boat to the
    limits completing our
    offshore
    circuit. Your
    experience will begin in
    Southampton where you
    will receive a full
    safety briefing as you
    are provided with an
    offshore racing jacket
    and lifejacket before
    being escorted to the
    waiting powerboat. After
    a short cruise down the
    river, the highly
    experienced driver will
    open up the throttle as
    you begin to make a
    splash as you fly across
    those waves! This
    unique experience
    includes a demonstration
    of wave jumping, high
    speed cornering, racing
    lines and starts. You
    will then have the
    opportunity to put it to
    the test yourself as you
    receive 2 laps behind the
    wheel around our offshore
    circuit.
