Winners of the Real Alternative Award at the Welsh Tourism Awards.ÃÂ Deep in a hidden part of the forest in Powys, Wales, lies the beautiful and ever so slightly Tee-Pee (or Tipi) site which lets you really escape from the hurly-burly of modern life and enjoy the beauty of nature in comfortable surroundings. Tee-pee tents are truly beautiful living spaces. They offer protection from the elements while allowing you to experience the freshness and joy of living close to nature.ÃÂ These 21 foot diameter teepee tents are surprisingly spacious. Each one is lovingly furnished in an individual style, accommodating a double bed with a proper mattress, organic bed linen, cushions and a coffee table, sheepskin rugs and a central wood burning 'chimenea'. You will be supplied with the wood and kindling you need and the teepee is lit by an abundance of candles in lanterns.ÃÂ There is a 2 ring gas stove for cooking complete with all utensils, crockery and cutlery. Each teepee has its own washing and toilet unit with a fresh spring water shower and basin situated just a few yards outside. Outdoor living has never been easier, or more comfortable! By day you can enjoy the light airiness of the teepee and by night nothing beats cuddling up next to a cosy log fire! Located deep in the heart of one of Wales's largest forests, you will find the space to relax, to breathe again, to reconnect to yourself and your loved ones. The Teepee site is in a remote and stunningly beautiful location on a 1, 300 acre organic farm, about seven miles north-east of Machynlleth.ÃÂ You really can get away from it all and forget about the outside world. The site is 4 (and a bit) miles up a forest track which leads you through the landscape of the valley and the surrounding hills. There are no inhabited houses for a 2 mile radius so this enables a great opportunity to stargaze with minimal light pollution which gives you a completely different perspective on a clear and starry night. (This also means that there is no "warden" or "housekeeper" living on the site either.) You'll be able to walk along streams, over hills, through ancient oak woods, or just relax around your site.ÃÂ Each spot is set in a different field or area of the site, so you can fully enjoy an undisturbed time together. After arriving, most guests choose to spend their time around the site, but we're also close to other beautiful destinations - Cadair Idris, one of Wales' highest mountains, to the north and the fantastic beaches of Aberdyfi and Ynys Las to the west and south.
