Vigor 2760n VDSL/ADSL2+ Wireless-n firewall/router Introducing the Vigor 2760n, Draytek’s latest DSL router, ideal for your home or small office. It provides connectivity to your PCs or other Internet-connected devices (laptops, tablets, games consoles, smartphones) via its built-in Gigabit ports, or using Wireless LAN. The firewall helps protect your network from external threats, as well as the Vigor 2760n's built-in content filtering which gives you control over what & when your local users can access or download. For Wireless LAN usage, the Vigor 2760n version supports multiple security methods, including strong encryption but also hardware-specific authorisation & selectable client isolation (from each other). Fully Future-Proof The Vigor 2760n supports all variants of mass-market DSL technology available, so if you have ADSL today it will work with that, but when VDSL (FTTC) comes to your area later, you don’t need to go out & purchase a new route. VDSL is available from BT under their ' Infinity' service, currently providing downstream speeds of up to 80 Mb/s (depending on local service). Other ISPs are also starting to introduce VDSL across the country so coverage continues to increase. You can also use 3G/4G networks. Most of us are still mostly using IPv 4 as our Internet protocol (the system that gives us IP addresses like 194.158.12.42) but that's going to change; over the next few years, IPv 6 will increase in usage & eventually we'll all be using IPv 6, so the Vigor 2760n already supports it
- IPv 4 & IPv 6 can be run simultaneously (dual-stack) on the Vigor 2760n. Web Content Filtering The content control features of the Vigor 2760n allow you to set restrictions on web site access, blocking download of certain file or data types, blocking specific web sites with whitelists (a list of allowed sites) or blacklists (a list of blocked sites), blocking IM/P2P applications or other potentially harmful or time-wasting content. This is particularly useful in the home, where children need to be protected, or workplaces where inappropriate sites may be a liability, security risk or harmful to productivity. Restrictions can be per user, per PC or universal. Using Dray Tek's Global View service, you can block whole categories of web sites (e.g. gambling, adult sites etc.), subject to an annual subscription to the Globalview service, which is continuously updated with new or changed site categorisations or sites which have become compromised (such as infected with Malware). A free 30-day Globalview trial is included with your new router. 3G/4G Cellular Data & Network Attatched Storage (NAS) The Vigor 2760n has two USB (Universal Serial Bus) ports which can be used for 3G/3G modems, USB (Universal Serial Bus) memory or a printer for shared access. You can connect a USB (Universal Serial Bus) 3G/4G modem to the Vigor 2760n & use the cellular networks (O2, EE, Vodafone, Virgin, 3) as your Internet connectivity. That can be your primary (only) connection, or the router can switch over to 3G in the case of ADSL/VDSL outage so that you're always connected. Check with us for the latest list of supported 3G modems as it is continuously updated as the telcos introduce new modem models. You can use your Vigor 2760n as a network attached storage (NAS) repository. This means that you can store files for local or remote users (anywhere on the Internet) to download
- ideal for when you're on the move. You can also let users upload files
- each remote user can have their own login & read-only or read-write FTP access to a preset directory. The Vigor 2760n has 40 Mb of memory built-in for NAS but you can add a USB (Universal Serial Bus) memory stick for as much storage as you need.
