Product Description

This mixing bowl was designed in 1950 by industrial designer Sigvard Bernadotte, uncle of Queen Margrethe of Denmark, & architect Acton Bjørn. Melamine receptacles from Rosti enjoyed great popularity from the 50s to the 70s & are today considered modern classics. The Museum of Modern Art in New York has samples in its permanent collection. In 1997 the Danish postal service brought out a stamp to commemorate the Margrethe bowls. Height 14 cm, diameter 28 cm, weight 800 g. Melamine is a plastic made out of cellulose & rock flour. With its hard shiny surface, it looks similar to porcelain & is ideal to be used with foods. Melamine receptacles are dishwasher safe, but are not suitable for use in microwaves. The bowls have a non-slip rubber ring on the under side.
