Native to America this slow growing deciduous Black gum Tree has elegant, flouncing branches which form a broadly conical shape over time. Nyssa sylvatica provides a fantastic autumn display, when the foliage turns amazing reds & oranges & becomes a flaming mass of colour before they all fall & reveal complex shapes of bare branches. Known as ' Tupelo' in its native country this super plant with ovate leaves is great for woodland gardens, & is a worthy specimen plant, the ' Sour Gum' can take up to 20 years to reach its full height, but up to that time it will give you a wonderful interesting specimen year after year.
