Choose this hardy Geranium if you are looking for ground cover for a shady spot in the garden. Geranium himalayense has attractive violet-blue flowers in early summer, & often continues to produce more flowers right through to autumn. Its interestingly shaped leaves turn bright red in autumn. Like others in the Cranesbill family it is at home in a cottage garden or the herbaceous border & is great for providing ground cover & suppressing weeds, but unlike most others, Geranium himalayense is especially useful as it thrives even in shade.
