There is an increasing interest in Jerusalem artichokes as an easy to grow winter hardy vegetable which produces a good crop of tubers in all soil types. The tubers can be left in the ground & dug as required, or lifted & stored in a hessian sack in the shed or garage We traditionally sell the Originals or Common knobbly variety, but we have managed to obtain a limited number of a red skinned French Gerard variety. This variety has created a lot of interest in the restaurants & specialist food outlets. The flesh colour is white but it is the skin colour which has increased its appeal. These tubers are our first from an English produced crop & we hope to have an increased quantity for our Autumn 2013 catalogue.
