This Malus domestica produces distinctive, maroon coloured apples with a juicy texture & a sweet flavour. While these fruit make delicious snacks, they are also a useful ingredient in culinary creations such as pies & crumbles. They are slow to ripen, providing a welcome, sweet treat at the end of the autumn. Apple Spartan has other practical uses, too: the hardy tree is an excellent pollinator, so proves itself to be extremely useful in orchards. It also makes a pretty feature in sunny cottage gardens when its blossom appears in the spring.
