Agapanthus ' Sweet Surprise' sports umbels of pale blue flowers between late June & August. Each flower has a charming star-shape once opened fully & a dark blue stripe down the centre of each petal. With stiff, upright stems that rise above clumps of strap-like, semi-evergreen foliage, it is perfect as ground cover. Being low maintenance, African Blue Lilies are robust & resilient. A neat & compact variety, it is ideal for for cheering up up patio pots & the architectural flowers are perfect at the front of perennial borders. It also makes a good cut flower.
