This exciting regional Shiraz is made from the Orrock family vineyard perched 380m above sea level in the Southern Flinders Ranges, about two hours north of our Tanunda winery. A relatively new region to plant vineyards, the altitude, rainfall & rich fertile soils of the Southern Flinders are providing ideal conditions to grow small parcels of exceptional quality Shiraz. Only 600 cases produced. The colour is deep cherry red. The bouquet shows dark forest fruits with a hint of black olive leading to a richly structured palate with firm, fine grained tannins, reflecting the higher altitude of this particular vineyard. A great wine to serve with hearty winter warming casseroles such as lamb shanks & oxtail, a must with roast beef, & perfect with hard well-aged cheeses such as pecorino.
