The wine spends only a year in barrel, resulting in a well-balanced wine with an exotic touch. The term clos, meaning a small walled vineyard, is more commonly used in Burgundy & the approach to terroir at Clos Le Comte could quite easily be described as Burgundian. The vineyard was first planted in 1929 & average age of the vines is in excess of 50 years old. Jean Michel Le Comte made his first vintage in 2000. 90% Merlot, 10% Carbernet Sauvignon.
