Bottled at 4.2% ABV, Temperance by Portobello Road, has been crafted especially for gin-fans who are looking to moderate their intake of alcohol yet dont want to compromise on flavour. Temperance, which means moderation, was created by Portobello Road Gins award-winning co-founder, Jake F. Burger & has been distilled using the same nine time-honoured botanicals that comprise Portobello Road Gins signature London Dry & Navy Strength. Jake developed bespoke techniques & added additional ingredients, such as naturally high mineral content water, botanical hydrosols & one or two secret ingredients to ensure the spirit harbours the intensity of flavour, texture & depth demanded by the modern drinker. The resulting flavour profile is instantly weighty, with viscosity & a pleasant acidic sharpness. In the mouth the citrus, floral, & particularly the winter spice notes are more pronounced than the nose would suggest, then eventually give way to juniper & pepper. A serve made with 50ml of Temperance mixed with 200ml tonic water holds just 0.8% ABV, while a classic equal parts Negroni made with Temperance instead of Portobello Road London Dry will be almost 50% lower in alcohol & contain just 1.1 units. ...

Proud purveyors of Londons spirit Portobello Road Gin have collaborated with legendary rock musician & Dire Straits frontman, Mark Knopfler OBE, to launch a distinctive, special edition rock n roll gin. Mark Knopfler
- who is a passionate gin fan & former Notting Hill local
- worked with Portobello Road Gins co-founder, Jake F. Burger to create Local Heroes No.3, which is a bold gin that combines Portobello Road Gins nine signature botanicals with lime zest, fresh cucumber peel & olive oil. The unique combination of botanicals results in a robustly ginny profile with strong spice flavour & heat which are quickly tempered by the coolness of cucumber. Named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the fifty greatest guitarists of all time, Mark Knopfler is an acclaimed singer-songwriter, guitarist, record producer, & film score composer. He is best known as the lead singer, lead guitarist & songwriter of internationally celebrated rock band Dire Straits, as well as founder of roots band The Notting Hillbillies, having spent many years living in the area & recording Portobello Belle inspired by the streets of his adopted home. The launch of Local Heroes No.3 coincides with the opening of a new stage musical adaptation of the classic Scottish film, Local Hero, which features brand new music & lyrics by Mark. The musical opens on March 23rd at the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh before transferring to The Old Vic in May 2020. From 25th April, Mark will embark on a global tour in support of his recent ninth studio album, Down The Road Wherever. Each of the limited edition, artisan bottles made will be distilled on Portobello Road in their 400L copper alembic still King Henry, then bottled & labelled by h&. The bottles decorative label design was led by Mark & is inspired by his passion for guitars. On the inside label of each bottle, there is an image of Marks famous 1937 14-fret National Style O Resonator. There is also a nod to the days when Mark would sport a headband for his live performances, so each bottle comes with its own miniature version in red. The concept of Local Heroes was created as a project by Portobello Road Gin, to celebrate a local hero that encapsulates the spirit of the area & the br&. Previous editions have seen Portobello Road Gin working with Brett Graham, head chef & proprietor of Notting Hill restaurant nonpareil; The Ledbury, & Italian Masterchef judge & culinary maestro Carlo Cracco for the Italian market. Mark Knopfler OBE says: 2019 is an exciting year with the launch of the Local Hero musical, a global tour & of course the launch of my new limited edition gin in collaboration with Portobello Road Gin. As a huge gin fan, it is a wonderful opportunity to work with a prestigious brand like Portobello Road Gin to craft my very own unique blend. This project allowed us to share our vision & Im incredibly proud of the final product. Robust in flavour & strong in spice, it is exactly the kind of gin that I enjoy & I hope my fans will too. Jake F. Burger, co-founder of Portobello Road Gin commented: It is a huge honour to be able to work with Mark to create a London Dry Gin with a rock n roll edge. The Local Heroes collection is an occasional release of very limited edition gins created in collaboration with some of our own personal heroes & people whom we feel best to embody the spirit of Portobello Road. Mark was introduced to us by our previous Local Hero, Brett Graham. After meeting with Mark & his management team for lunch & bonding over a mutual love of music & gin, the collaboration was agreed. I worked closely with Mark to create the recipe, which was guided by his preferred gin styles. As a Portobello Road Gin fan, Mark expressed an interest in creating a more summery take on our signature blend that is also bold in flavour. To create this, we distilled our nine-time honoured botanicals adding lime zest, fresh cucumber peel & somewhat uniquely, olive oil. As expected, the flavours are totally unique & we believe the result is extremely exciting. The addition of olive oil results in a wonderfully smooth finish making it a great gin for Martinis & Gibsons, which of course shares its name with the iconic guitar br&. So why not mix yourself a cocktail, turn the stereo up & listen to one of Marks many classic albums? A timeless & versatile London Dry that salutes the classic distillers of the past, Portobello Road Gin is distilled using English wheat & nine time-honoured botanicals: juniper berries; coriander seed, orris root, angelica root, lemon peel, orange peel, liquorice root, cassia bark & nutmeg. On the Nose: Fresh juniper with punchy citrus notes & a subtle spiciness. On the Palate: A generous burst of juniper with a sustained, fresh citrus character from our use of lemon, bitter orange & coriander. Finish: A sweet peppery finish, which is achieved by the use of cassia & nutmeg

On the front of the palate Portobello Road Gin has a generous slug of juniper, the mid palate has a sustained, fresh citrus character from their use of lemon, bitter orange & coriander, which then develops into a sweet peppery finish, which is achieved by the use of liquorice & nutmeg. Bottled at 42% Portobello Road Gin has enough alcoholic strength to carry & sustain the flavours of the nine botanicals
- juniper berries, lemon peel, bitter orange peel, coriander seeds, orris root, angelica root, cassia bark, liquorice & nutmeg. Distilled by 8th generation London Distiller Mr Charles Maxwell Portobello Road Gin is a traditionally styled London Dry Gin which eschews the modern trend for ever more esoteric botanicals, a big hit of Juniper is followed by a burst of citrus from the lemon & bitter orange & then a sweet note from the liquorice & the cassia bark which slowly builds to a long peppery finish from the nutmeg. Portobello Road Gin was formulated with reference to antique gins from The Ginstitute's own collection & was overseen by a tasting panel of industry experts. We hope you will agree that Portobello Road Gin is an exceptionally versatile gin that is as at home in a Martini or a Negroni as it is in a Gin & Tonic. The depth of character & the length of the finish being strong enough to express themselves in any context. Tallgrass thrives in the cool & shaded meadows of Poland & Lithuania. Its aromatic properties confer it a subtle sweet taste & a particularly fragrant aroma. It has been used to flavour vodka for centuries, hence its popular name of bison or holy grass. Today, Potocki Lithuanian Tallgrass is produced by carefully macerating dried, hand picked blades. It develops a fresh & vivacious vegetal aroma, before revealing voluptuous & creamy notes of vanilla. It is well suited to accompany white fish served with a rich sauce & is also a natural companion to apple or pear, however served. Serve at room temperature with savoury dishes, chilled in a shot glass with desserts, or on the rocks with apple juice. ...

Potocki - Polish Rye Vodka 70cl Bottle

Potocki Wodka (pronounced Po-toh-tski vood-ka) is a 100% rye Polish vodka crafted in small batches according to the noble Potocki family's 200-year old tradition. This artisanal product is created from freshly harvested rye - double distilled and unfiltered for a distinctive sweet and nutty flavour. Take a look at the bottle. It is inspired by the Potocki family tradition. Its angular flask shape resembles 19th century hand- blown models from their distillery at the Lancut Estate in Poland; it carries their name and coat of arms. Yet the bottle manages to retain a modern, classic look. This is exactly what Potocki Wodka is: timeless. Potocki Wodka is best enjoyed pure and ice cold, accompanying a meal. Smoked fish and caviar are traditional companions, but Potocki also marries
well with smoked or cured meats and with sweets such as chocolate, lemon, or mocha desserts. Alternatively, by shaking with ice, adding perhaps some dry vermouth and a garnish, the perfect dry martini is born. Try Potocki Wodka before a meal with hors d'oeuvres, during dinner with rich foods, or after coffee with a fine cigar. Keep your bottle in the freezer, the refrigerator, or on ice like a bottle of champagne. But regardless of how you choose to store it, make sure you serve it chilled not frozen, so as to allow the vodka's flavour to emerge. The faint bouquet of vodka is noticeable on the nose, but most of the action takes place on your palate. Good vodka can be flavourful enough to take it over and keep you entertained for a good half a minute, Potocki does that.
At first it is soft and slightly sweet on the tongue. Its rich texture envelops the mouth, gradually arousing the taste buds, and you can soon see yourself ordering dinner and asking for a refill. While you are still toying in your mind with various menu options, the flavour moves to the back, turning into a long dry finish with nutty notes which are the trademark taste of Polish rye vodka. This pleasant experience is concluded by a warm feeling in your chest (and your heart). American critic Paul Pacult writes of a multilayered bouquet that begs for a half hour of sniffing and evaluation, and Robert Plotkin calls it a remarkable achievement, one worthy of top shelf treatment. British Class Magazine notes that its creamy, nutty, rye notes combine with a hint of spice to
deliver an incredibly long finish.
