Much of the whisky has been stored in 100-litre casks, which produces an exciting, powerful ageing process. Also used were newly manufactured Swedish oak casks, made using oak that was planted on the island of Visings
- 160 years ago & intended for use in building warships for the Swedish navy. The base is an Elegant recipe, stored in bourbon casks of first fill quality. All stored in the Bodas mine, 50 metres down inside the primary rock. The colour is light yellow, with hints of amber. The nose is fruity with citrus, pear, apple, honey, light oak with hints of lightly toasted bread & fresh, buttery caramel. The flavour is fruity & subtle, with citrus, caramel & honey. A light hint of oak can be noted at the end. The aftertaste is well-adjusted & balanced, with hints of dark chocolate. For optimal flavour, the alcohol strength has been adjusted to 46.1% using naturally purified water from the Valbo Ridge.

To celebrate 40 years of eardrum crushing, Motrhead Whisky is now released in collaboration with beverage partner Brands For Fans & award-winning Swedish distillery Mackmyra. The un-compromising attitude that characterises the bands music is also obvious in Motrhead Whisky: bourbon-influences up front, its an alert & vital almost cocky perfectly balanced whisky with nice caramel & typical vanilla notes from American oak. The band have played an active role in both choosing casks & blends to put their name on the label. With Motrhead Whisky the band have made two top releases in one blow since the new album Bad Magic was just released earlier this summer & topped the charts in several countries.
