Made from a blend of 95% Auxerrois Blanc (a cross between Gouais Blanc & Pinot Noir sharing the ancestry of Chardonnay) & 5% Rulander grapes (a German synonym for Pinot Gris). It is crafted using the traditional bottle fermentation method & aged for Approx. four years on its lees. A classically structured wine that lasts on the palate. Equally delightful to drink either on its own or with food. 2009 Tasting Note: The nose has a fragrant floral charm, & behind the freshness the richness of pineapple. On the palate the pineapple & pear & the hint of brioche is underpinned by pink grapefruit, & although there is richness at the back, the finish is citrusy, zesty fresh. Derek Smedley MW.
