A Belgian abbey made a three grain beer in the 1600's & inspired Bosteels, a Flemish family brewery based in the small town of Buggenhout, to create Tripel Karmeliet in 1997 from barley, rye & wheat. Very refined & complex with hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas, Tripel Karmeliet has the lightness & freshness of wheat, the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemon dryness. Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined & complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head.
