One of the very successful Glenmorangie wood finishes. A remarkable malt, antique gold in
Colour: golden but with a rosy hue. This whisky has been matured for at least 12 years in American white oak casks & racked for several years into Ruby Port pipes for finishing. Malt thats matured as normal in traditional American white oak ex-bourbon casks is then transfered into casks that used to hold fine port for a final period of maturation. The end result is a malt whisky with the colour of antique copper & a unique taste. Add a drop of water & the aromas you get predominate with butterscotch & dark chocolate. But there are also fresh minty notes & a certain dryness a bit like lint. The mouth-feel is really smooth, like sipping velvet, now that might be taking it a bit far, but it is voluptuously smooth. Perfect after a good meal, but its such a fine, if slightly different, Glenmorangie that why wait until after dinner?
