The Pina Colada was created by Ramon " Monchito" Marrero whilst he was a bartender at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Daiquiri is a Bacardi-based cocktail that originated from Cuba around 1905. It is believed to have been created by Jennings Cox who was an American working in the town of Daiquiri at an iron mine. Daiquiris became very popular in America during the 1940s, so much so that the 19th of July each year is celebrated as National Daiquiri Day.
