Even when their surname is incorporated in the registration plate.

So walk with me into the dressing-room, to find out which players refuse to touch a football before a game, to discover why a load of millionaires never have any shower-gel, & to hear what Cristiano Ronaldo says when he looks at himself in the mirror.

Peter Falk came to prominence as an actor in 1956 in the highly successful off-Broadway revival of The Iceman Cometh with Jason Robards. Although he worked continuously for the next three years, bouncing from one off-Broadway theatre to the next, a theatrical agent advised him not to expect much work in motion pictures because of his glass eye. Later, a talent scout for Columbia Pictures described Falk as a second John Garfield, but Harry Cohn, the head of Columbia Pictures, unfortunately disagreed: ' For the same price, I can get an actor with two eyes' But in 1958, Twentieth Century Fox came to New York to make a movie
- Murder, Inc
- & Falk landed a juicy role for which he received rave reviews &, incredibly, was nominated for an Academy Award. He was then nominated again for his second film, Pocketful of Miracles starring Bette Davis. Falk went on to become a favourite among filmgoers, yet it was through television that he reached his widest audience as Lt. Columbo, winning four Emmys for the role. Interestingly, Columbo's raincoat came out of Falk's bedroom closet. He bought it years before he became an actor. He's been"ed as saying, 'I wanted to wear something people would remember. Bottom line, it's the world's most famous raincoat' Just One More Thing is pure Peter Falk, & reads as if he's sitting next to you, chuckling as he recalls his remarkable past.

Product Description

Being a footballer is not just kicking a ball about with twenty-one other people on a big grass rectangle.

Sometimes being a footballer is about accidentally becoming best mates with Mickey Rourke, or understanding why spitting is considered footballs most heinous crime.

In How to be a Footballer, Peter Crouch took us into a world of bad tattoos & even worse haircuts, a world where youre on the pitch one minute, spending too much money on a personalised number plate the next.

In I, Robot, he lifts the lid even further on the beautiful game.

We will learn about Gareth Bales magic beans, the Golden Rhombus of Saturday night entertainment, & why Crouchys dad walks his dog wearing an England tracksuit from 2005.

Whether youre an armchair expert, or out in the stands every Saturday, crazy for five-a-side or havent put on a pair of boots since school, this is the real inside story of how to be a footballer.
