Set in Southend during the rock n roll years of the 1950s, this is a wonderfully written saga about an indomitable young girl called Scarlett - and her journey to love and happiness. When Scarlett Smith's mother dies of a heart attack on Coronation day, Scarlett and her father have to move out of their country pub to a seafront pub in South end. There Scarlett meets Jonathan Blane, son of the landlord.
