A nostalgic look at the legacy left by ' God's Wonderful Railway' & a reminder of the brilliant engineers & designers from the company who brought us such wonderful locomotives as King George V, Gloucester Castle, King Edward I & Pendennis Castle. Hop aboard the little single-carriage sprinter as we start our bucolic journey at the English border in Shrewsbury, a splendid county town with its imposing castle & innumerable listed buildings, before heading out of town. Stopping off at some of the most picturesque towns in Wales & passing some of its most stunning landscape before we climb up the Vale of Lampeter to the popular seaside resort of Tenby with its ancient town walls & finally to the end of the line at Pembroke. To travel by train along the North Wales coast from Chester to Aberystwyth is an experience never to be forgotten passing historic castles, majestic cliffs, bustling towns & sweeping beaches. Our journey begins on the main line but we take time out to visit the Snowdon Mountain Railway the Ffestiniog Railway, & various other narrow gauge railways before we reach our destination at Aberystwyth.
